Extend The Power Of iDataGuard

In additional to plugins that allow you to backup Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL databases, there are additional plugins that further enhance the iDataGuard online backup service.

Microsoft Outlook Plugin
Never lose an email. The Microsoft Outlook Plugin allows you to backup your Microsoft Outlook .pst file. If you use Microsoft Outlook as your email program, all of your emails, contacts, calendar entries, etc. are saved in a file with the extension .pst. Because Microsoft Windows does not allow a .pst file to be copied while it is open, most backup services, including iDataGuard cannot copy the file to back it up. With this constraint in mind, we created the Microsoft Outlook Plugin. If this plugin, which comes installed with the iDataGuard Home User software, and is a free download for Business users, is installed and set to run, at the end of every backup it will close Outlook on your computer and backup your .pst file. All you have to do is reopen Outlook the next time you use your computer to start emailing again.

Microsoft Office BackupNow! Plugin
Do you work on documents that are so important that you wish you could back them up immediately? Now you can! The new Microsoft BackupNow! Plugin allows you to backup your Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access files right from the application program. Here's how it works. A small icon will be installed on the toolbar of these Office programs. When you are working on a document and want to back it up, all you have to do is click on the icon. The plugin will automatically backup that file (or if you wish, all of your open files of that program) right then and there. And because iDataGuard supports unlimited versions of files, you don't have to change the file name. Backup as often as you want. With this plugin, if your computer crashes, you don't have to depend on Windows auto recovery features to get your files back.
